These DIY Cinnamon Oatmeal with essential oil homemade soaps are super easy and fun to make, using a goat's milk melt and pour soap base! You can get creative with different scents and colors, making something unique and aromatic.
I think you will enjoy making this Cinnamon Oatmeal Soap with Essential Oils in particular because it is simple enough for beginners. {I even let my younger daughter help pour and mix some of the ingredients} Plus, it smells wonderful and is also a great exfoliating soap thanks to the addition of oatmeal.
You can make this Cinnamon Oatmeal Soap with Essential Oils for yourself but for a handcrafted gift from the heart - wrap a bar or two in bakers twine! They make a nice addition to any gift basket but are just as sweet as a gift on their own. Who doesn't love a handmade gift? And oatmeal exfoliating soap at that?!
This recipe makes about 5 bars if using same mold.
To make your cinnmon oatmeal soap bars you will need:
Grind the oats. (You can do this with a rolling pin, in the food processor, ninja, magic bullet, or whatever your preferred method is.)
Cut the soap into 1 inch chunks. Melt the soap in the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir. If it is not completely melted, put it back on for 10 second increments, until fully melted; stirring each time.
Add the cinnamon to the soap base. Mix well.
Add half of the ground oats to the soap base. Mix well.
Add the cinnamon essential oil. Mix again.
Pour into the silicone mold.
Pour the rest of the oats into the mold, making sure to evenly distribute them.
Mist lightly with rubbing alcohol to help reduce bubbles.
Let set for about 3-4 hours.
Remove from mold. Using the straight scraper, cut the soap into 2 inch bars.
