Are you as obsessed with fall as I am? When the summer heat has gone on long enough, I start the countdown to less humidity, cooler nights, sweater weather, and pumpkin everything! Fall is the kickoff to the holidays, family gatherings (remember those!?!), and fun outdoor activities that don’t leave you feeling hot and sweaty. It’s when I start thinking of all the things I want to do this season with my family, and of course, I ask myself, when is it too early to start decorating?

So, if you’re like me, and you’ve been waiting all year for this magical time, you’re probably on the hunt for some family-friendly, fall activities to do this year. The list could go on and on, but I’ve narrowed down some of my favorites.

Here are my top 10 favorite things to do in the fall.

1. Bake a pie

There’s something about cooler weather that makes me want to keep the oven on and bake. Whether it’s chicken pot pie, apple pie, or sweet potato pie, in the fall I love to bake pies no matter what kind.

2. Decorate your home with all things fall

From front doorsteps to fireplace mantles, pull out the plush blankets and firewood. Give your home a fall makeover with warm autumn colors, fall leaves, and of course pumpkins.

3. Get a pumpkin-flavored latte

I mean, is it really fall if you haven’t gotten one yet?

4. Get inspired journaling.

I recommend waking up with my coffee inspired journal and coloring pages to start your day off energized. It’s the perfect journal to go right alongside your warm fall-flavored coffee each day.

5. Go apple picking

We have to drive aways for this being in northern Florida, so I envy you if you have a local apple orchard close by. It’s definitely a trip worth taking, and it’s so fun seeing the kids get to pick different types of apples to take home and try.

6. Make spiced cider

This is the perfect thing to do after you’ve brought home all those apples. It’s like drinking fall in a cup.

7. Collect fall leaves for a fun family craft

Make fall leaf garland to decorate the mantle or a fall wreath for the front door. Have littles? Put a piece of paper over a leaf and use a crayon to create a leaf rubbing.

8. Make some pumpkin-flavored treats

You can find a plethora of pumpkin-flavored items scrolling through Pinterest in fall, savory and sweet alike. This fall try out a new pumpkin-flavored recipe to try!

9. Visit the pumpkin patch

This is something I look forward to every year. Whether we get to go to a pumpkin patch where you can pick a prize pumpkin right off the vine, or we’re supporting a local charity where the pumpkins are delivered for the choosing, this one activity really sets the tone for the season.

10. Carve a pumpkin

After you’ve chosen a few pumpkins from the patch, it only makes sense to carve one (or two or three). We like to get creative with our pumpkin carvings, but even if you’re a triangle eyes, nose, and smile kind of person, it’s sheer joy to light the candle for the first time and turn off the lights to watch your masterpiece come to life.

What do you like to do in the fall? I encourage you to make your fall bucket list today and see how many things you can check off this fall season!
